Always believe that you will attain what you ask for. After completing your petition you will place it underneath your candle, light it, and allow it to burn for 20 to 30 minutes. After this time, you will extinguish it or snuff it out with your hand or an object; never blow it out for it will end the spell.
Make sure you burn the candle on a heat safe surface. (WARNING: Never leave a candle burning on unattended.)
Then, you will repeat this process over a number of days; whether 3 , 7, 9, 14, or 21 days. This is called Ritual, and ritual power. The rising and setting of the Sun and the waning and waxing of the Moon are very important as it goes into your magical work. The longer the working the better the results will be. So basically the more work you put into it, the more of you will get out of it. It charges it and the spirits of these cycles will support you in it.

Finally, once the working is complete, there are a number of things you can do with the remains. You can keep little remnants or pieces of the wax and keep them in a safe place; where you know it will not be disturbed or discovered. When disposing of wax you can leave at a crossroads and let the spirits of the cross roads continue your working once you hand it over to them. DO NOT LOOK BACK!! In this process, you are trusting them with your request. Bury around your property if applicable. If in an apartment or attached home setting, wax can be put in potted or faux plant vases. Creatively, they can be put in old shoe boxes, under or in mattresses, back of cabinets, and floorboards. Ashes are often given to the wind on a day with decent weather.
Wax and ashes that are disposed in the trash is for workings and spells regarding dispelling and banishing. So, you do not want to throw away energy from love work in the trash as it will carry it away from you instead of towards you. All of these elements put together, are a strong recipe for forming a powerful intention as well as a powerful conclusion. The Magick is in the focus, discipline, and proper disposing or execution of the work.
